Leftover Sunflower – Wieneke de Leeuw

Dit is een zonnebloem uit mijn serie ‘overgebleven zonnebloemen’. In de winter staan ze als gebeeldhouwde kunstwerken in het verloren landschap.
Deze kwam ik tegen langs de IJssel tijdens mijn onderzoek naar de Fritillaria meleagris. Als je goed kijkt, zie je de rijp in de zonnebloem. Met een aantal items uit deze serie heb ik een prijs gewonnen in de Black and White Spider Award.

This is a sunflower from my series of leftover sunflowers. In winter they stand like carved statues in the lost landscape.
I came across this along the IJssel in my research for the Fritillaria meleagris. If you look closely you can see the frost in the sunflower. I won a prize in the Black and White Spider Award with a number of items from this series (proud because this one with honorable mention, my first entry ever).
